Among the nine Durgas, Devi Shailputri is considered to be the first manifestation of Goddess who was born to the King of Mountains. “Shail” means mountain and “putri” means daughter. Hence, she is called Shailputri – the daughter of a mountain. Maa Shailputri, an absolute form of Mother Nature, is worshipped on the first day of Navratri. She is also referred to as Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva and mother of Lord Ganesha and Kartikeya.
As per the Upanishads, Goddess Shailaputri humbled Indra and the other devtas. They bowed and prayed, "In fact, thou are Shakti, we all- Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are capable only by getting Shakti from you". Thus Shailaputri is considered a manifestation of the power of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. She is also known as the Goddess of the Muladhara(Root) chakra. Upon awakening the root chakra, one beings their journey towards spiritual awakening and discovering their purpose in life .
Composed in the 1st chakra Sound frequency in Raag Shyam kalyan having benefits of improving breathing pattern and curing asthma according to Ragachikitsa Music Therapy.
